Dear @Sparky79
Please don't roll your eyes.....but it's cute that
"I'm not worthless, human organs are worth a fortune on the black market".
But it's actually true, isn't it? My mantra was "Stay safe. Stay kind." but I wasn't safe. I was kind.
In 2017, I was at work do. Christmas day meal. Ide worked as a carer for over 10 years, but separately had one year off to work at Bunnings and one year off to work as a cleaner and patient helper at the local childrens hospital.
I was sitting with a lady who ended up being my friend for about 5 years but the friendship finished with the space where we were live.
A lady came up to me and asked about the wellness of my youngest son. He had a terrible time with cancer for 15 years, he would just walk to school and collapse so I had to have my phone on in case I had to pick him up and get him to the hospital. I was very poor because this is what happens when you're a sole parent and he wanted to well at school so I was paying ridiculous amounts of money for tutoring.
@utopia @Sparky79 @Glisten @Zoe7 @StuF @Bunniekins @TAB @Patches59 @Bow @Gibbs @Laz1985 @Meowmy @ENKELI
She says to me, 'Oh we used to laugh at you during manual handling days. You always sat at the front and we would laugh and laugh at you because you were under so much stress. We could not believe that you couldn't even turn your phone off during manual handling days and we would just laugh at you.
So I said, Oh, how do you feel that my son is better now?
"Oh that's wonderful, congratulations, wonderful news."
I say, do you think, I don't want to be rude or anything but do you think that you could just go to work with say a meal to help me out?
She stops talking, she looks at me and she disappears......never to be seen again .......My friend and I were surprised by the aggressive attitude of a lady who was meant to be a CARER in the community...........
Now,
I've probably told this story before. Today, I realise that she had a difficult time and she couldn't see that other women were also having a tough time.
But @Dreamy can. Your heart @Dreamy is huge.
I was thinking about the helping agencies like
Lifeline and other places. you say that they don't help is this correct @Dreamy ?
Can we talk about how you do your days? When I joined Sane forums, I was absolutely in joy that someone cared about me. that after all these years, someone cared about how I was managing my life and even though I have
university degrees etc, no one cared about me. But Sane forums did. I spent many years working out the impact of empathy. that I wasn't nothing, I worked out my empathy which at that time was pretty much all over the place.
today
My home is quite messy because I Live in a very very small unit and I'm a sewer. Also, our budgies are very messy. Also my husband is sort of clean but he's not a woman clean.
My son is coming over for lunch for Easter. I feel like jumping up and down for joy. We have had so many years of separation whilst he got his head around having cancer for so long.

Hey @Bunniekins I have a wonderful ex-husband too. He is diagnosed with schizophrenia and my current husband and me are his non-paid carers.
I so love your name, every time I see it......
I promise I won't eat too much chocolate today. I promise myself but I've noticed I've been eating two very sweet biscuits before I go to sleep.
Why do we do that? Is there a reason why we eat very sweet before we go to bed? Or is it just me?
