Re: Tabaluga's

Yes @TAB  I was a bit thinking about this problem earlier, and trying to figure out alongside you guys as to what might be going wrong...🤔🙂

@Former-Member the solution I thought might be the surest way to find is exactly as TAB has described, without knowing more about the particular circuits and board configuration. The method I used to use to find this issue was to unplug everything, then turn on appliances that are hard-wired like stoves and aircon units, hot water heaters (by emptying some of the water through the overflow valve, so cold water would go in and the thermostat would tell the element to start heating), and see if that load kicked anything on the board, if so, I would then reduce the load by turning off one by one the appliances to see which one it was (each time, resetting the circuit breaker).

Then, I would check the power outlets (if none of the appliances were tripping the breaker): I would have everything plugged in and turned on, to load the draw to its highest, and see if it trips, then, I would do as TAB says, and physically unplug device by device to see which is tripping.

I have had this problem with a fridge that was tripping due to a bit of corrosion in wiring (it was very very old) so its power fluctuations weren't liked by my board on the side of the house, which used to trip as a result.

There may be other methods, but having everything on there is a greater chance of tripping, instead of having one thing plugged in and on (the circuit may not trip at an overall lower draw).

I may not have the best idea, but hopefully its of some help to you 🙂 x

Re: Tabaluga's

ahh, not even going to read your solution @Former-Member  it would be only one power circuit. so its only wahtevers on that , usually not that much on each one, hence circuit breakers etc. stoves, a/c, have their own, separate circuits 😊

Re: Tabaluga's

..just spent last 3 hours  on 2 half-baked super basic power points and trying to work out where one lesson ended and another began. does not sound like much, but was a hurdle @Former-Member  oh , interspersed with cat whining at me, before giving up and leaving and having to rush to the loo to do something totally unexpected and horrible @Adge  hopefully that was it re dash to toilet. Hope things going okay for you today Adge

Yeah, I hear you @TAB  🙌😊  I was thinking of bad wiring... tending to cover all redundancies of causes, but your comment makes perfect sense!

Re: Tabaluga's

sorry if I was rude @Former-Member  I try to be practical with fault finding based on minimal understanding of theory, but from single person on a limited income used to being in houses whose wiring is prob both ancient and illegal lol

nah - not at all @TAB  😊 all is good as gold 😎🙌

Ok, yep, that does make sense lol 😁
