@Bunniekins thanks sweetheart. Fortunately for me the male parent lives in a nursing home in country NSW while I live in Perth so I won't have anything to do with him. I haven't seen him since 2010 as my stepmonster hated me and wouldn't let me stay with them. I was going to go over and visit him but will save my money for something more worthwhile.

For 50 of my 56 years the man was mostly absent, blamed my mum and other people for the wrongs in his life. If it wasn't a person it was the Army. He's been an A-hole for most of his adult life.

By the time Christmas comes around I am pretty sure I will have forgotten all about his behaviour and I intend to send him a gift regardless.

@ENKELI   you are such a good person.  such a classy lady. you could make a donation to a animal sanctury with the money that the present would cost but the choice is yours.  i am just so glad you are far away from him.  so you are not compelled to visit him.  xx

I feel that a lot of my communication barriers appear in person more than online. It helps when I am given time to answer and process what someone has said so the forums are great for that. 😊

@ENKELI oh sweet, i hear you. It's hard when those that love us don't or won't stand up for us. I'm sorry that you have copped verbal abuse from people while they just stood by and did nothing.

@Bunniekins I do monthly donations to several animal welfare organisations and my motives and that altruistic. If I don't send anything he will whinge about it. If I do it will shut him up.
