Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Dreamy well I am still pain free, but ever since the gallstone attack, when I eat, I start to feel a bit sick. I am sure that has something to do with the gallbladder. And when I left the hospital, the nurse took me the highly infectious ward, and now my throat is starting to get a bit scratchy, so I hope I am not starting to get sick.

But I have had a pretty chilled day. How has your day been going?

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Mustang67 i so relate to dogs giving love when we are having a hard time. My dog Zeus is like that. He snuggles up against me, and if i do not watch it he will hop on my lap and lick my face when i'm down and out.

Dogs can be so very preceptive.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

I've got a question to ask everyone.

My 35-year-old son has always told me about his drug use which tends to lead into psychosis, where I come in the picture, to pick up the pieces. I told him not to tell me about drugs anymore. People have always told me how wonderful it is that he can talk to me. I agree. Yet for my own mental health I don't want to know anything as I only spend my time worrying!

Should I know what he's taking and how it's affecting him? Should I open those communication lines again. He's my only boy and I'd do anything that I could for him. I could leave him to deal with his own addictions and mental health. Any thoughts?

If you know someone who understands, could you please tag them

@heartathome  hey hunny my eldest told me something awhile back that i really didnt want to know.  there are somethings that we really dont need to know as a parent.  it makes us human.  you are doing the right thing by protecting yourself it doesnt mean that you are a bad parent. xxx

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@DownMoreThanUp Awww Zeus is gorgeous. I love big dogs. They are better to give hugs to. But my ex-husband had a scare as a child, so he would only allow small dogs. But I don't think it matters what size they are, they are all very perceptive and give you unconditional love. I have never been this long without a dog in my life. Our family had Samoyeds all throughout my childhood and when I left home, I got a German Shephard.

I did a trial at the Animal Welfare League to become a volunteer looking after the dogs, but unfortunately my back issues stopped me from being able to do it. When I am with animals, I am in my happy place. I still have a cat, but I can't have her where I live, so when I visit my mum, I visit my cat as well. Mum reckons, she must be able to hear my car turn into her street, as she usually lays on my mum's bed, but then she seems to jump off for no reason, and then I arrive. Or if she is outside, she greats me at the door.

She was a rescue cat. She was very skittish when we first got her, but she has come a long way in the 8 years that I have had her.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

Thanks for your thoughts @Bunniekins . It's the way I'm thinking towards at the moment. The most annoying thing for me is being needed when his life turns to s***

My next thought is to tell him he'll have to find other help when he goes back in psychosis, because I can't take it anymore. It's like worrying while waiting for the next time.

I am trying to disassociate from him somewhat to let him go his own way. It's so hard to watch and not be able to do anything! Bloody kids! God love them! 🤗💚

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@Mustang67 I'm so glad you are still pain free. It could definitely be something to do with the gallbladder, but if you are ever concerned about it it's best to have a chat to a doctor about it just to make sure. Fingers crossed you aren't coming down with anything, sending you hugs sweet ❤️

My day has been okayish.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@heartathome yes it doesnt matter how old they get you still worry about them.  i think what you are doing is the right thing.  you must look after you and there is a time where they have to grow up and learn by their own mistakes xx
